Edward Gregoire, 68
Edward "Ed" Gregoire, 68, of West
Bend, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, town
of Polk.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1939, in Cohoes, N.Y., to the late Edward and
Anita Gregoire.
He was united in marriage to Donna Daane on July 22, 1967, at Jerusalem
Presbyterian Church in Wales.
The couple lived in Oconomowoc where Ed was a Boy Scouts leader.
In 1976, they moved to West Bend, where he raised his three children and
enjoyed a yearly garden.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy as a gyro specialist and was a member of the
AMVETS, and enjoyed marching in parades.
He worked as a materials handler at RTE in Waukesha and then at the
Department of Motor Vehicles, until retiring in 2003.
As a young man he officiated baseball and basketball games. He also
officiated swim meets and was a member of Metro Swim Officials.
Ed was very involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. His
grandchildren loved his pancakes and sausages.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three children, Debbie (Scott) Huonker
of Sun Prairie, Chris Gregoire of Howards Grove and Greg (Babsi) Gregoire
of Nuremberg, Germany; four grandchildren, Baelin Huonker, Kynzie Huonker,
Jaric Huonker, Ellice Gregoire and two more grandchildren on the way. He
is also survived by a sister Elinor (Edmond) of New York State; a brother,
Donnie (Linda) Gregoire of New York State; other relatives and friends,
and also his miniature poodle, Midget.
Funeral services for Ed will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday at Fifth Avenue
United Methodist Church, West Bend. Rev. Janis Best will officiate.
Burial will be in Wales Cemetery at 10 a.m., Friday.
Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of
services.
