Theodore Fonfara, 92
Theodore "Ted" Fonfara, 92,
of West Bend, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1915, in Fall River, Mass. to the late Walter and
Mary (nee Suzek) Fonfara.
He married Eunice Beville on Feb. 22, 1941, in Dorchester, Mass. Eunice
passed away Sept. 24, 1985.
Ted was employed as a sales representative for J.L. Thompson in Waltham,
Mass. for many years until moving to Wisconsin in 1961 and becoming an
independent sales rep, which he continued until his retirement.
Ted was a long-time member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West
Bend. He was a lifetime member of the West Bend Masonic Lodge 138
F.&A.M. and was also a member of the Tripoli Shrine.
He was an avid golfer and a member of the West Bend Country Club for many
years. He also enjoyed traveling and gambling. Most of all he loved being
with his family.
He is survived by his long-time loving companion, Mae Bobert of West Bend;
a daughter, Val (Jon) Metcalf of Indian Head Park, Ill.; a son-in-law,
Robert Haemker of Winnebago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Deborah (Jeff) Skog
of Hampshire, Ill., Pam (Chet) King of Winnebago, Ill., Stefanie Metcalf
of Colorado, and Tyler Metcalf of Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Zack
Skog, Samantha Skog, Justin Skog, Mitchell King and Dany King; two
sisters, Helen Waxler of North Dartmouth, Mass., and Bernice Hakanson of
Walnut Creek, Calif.; other relatives and friends; and Tippy, "the
best dog ever."
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Haemker.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday at Fifth Avenue
United Methodist Church, West Bend, with the Rev. Janis Best officiating.
Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until the
time of service.
Inurnment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
