Newmann, 46 John
Newmann of Port Washington passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at
Froedtert Hos-pital in Wauwatosa after a valiant battle with cancer. He
was 46 years old. John
was born in Hartford on Sept. 3, 1961 to the late Lambert H. and Clara
Miller Newmann. John
attended Slinger High School,
where he was very involved with music.
He also performed with Kids from Wiscon-sin.
After
school, John joined the United States Marine Corps.
During his time in service, he was the Bandmaster of the Marine
Corps Band in Jacksonville, N.C. After he left the military, John
eventually settled in Cape Cana-veral, Fla. where he worked as a salesman
for American Marine Yachts. His
main passion in life was always music. He played saxophone and piano,
among other instruments, and frequently played a variety of venues. John
was a longtime member of the Cape Canaveral Rotary Club and had enjoyed
boating, body building, athletic pursuits and was an avid animal lover. He
is survived by his mother, Clara Newmann of Port Washington; his father,
Lambert New-mann; and his
sisters, Gailmary Newmann of Theinsville and Shirley (Richard) Minga of
Greendale. He is further survived by his
nieces, Joyce (Mike) White of West Bend, Anne (Joshua) Nuedorfer of
Greendale and Ellen Minga of San Francisco; great-nieces Hannah and Zoe
Neudor-fer, also of Greendale; other relatives and many friends. A
memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at the Eernisse
Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington.
Military honors will follow. The family will receive visitors at
the funeral home on Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. John was greatly loved and will be missed.
