He was born July 31, 1922 in Massillon, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Mae (nee Packer); his children, Roine (Glenn) Oquist, Cathryn (William) Grosse, James (Susan) Karrenbauer, Kristine (Dan) Quartell and Stephanie Karren-bauer; his sister, Katie Dutton; eight grandchildren and 10-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Peter and Catherine (nee Henderscheidt) Karren-bauer; his brothers, Harold, Ellsworth and Paul and his sister, Hilda Stull.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 22333 W. Erhart Road, Mundelein, Ill.

Interment will be private.
